Description: On May 8th at 12:30 UTC our DNS service in us-east-1 was unable to handle the elevated request volume. At that time, projects hosted in us-east-1 as well as the Polaris UI globally became unavailable. API traffic to the other Polaris regions was not impacted. After scaling out our DNS service, access to Polaris was mostly restored by 13:32 UTC. We continued to observe sporadic errors that were resolved by restarting the originally overloaded DNS servers. This incident affected: Query.

Description: From 11:26am to 12:00pm Pacific, customers in us-east-1 region started to receive intermittent errors creating jobs \(including ingestion jobs\). Pending and running jobs also experienced delays in updating their status and progress. The issues were caused by a data migration script that unexpectedly consumed excess resources on the Polaris job store in the us-east-1 region. Imply engineering has implemented a new process for data migrations to prevent issues of this nature.

Description: On March 26th at 16:10 UTC our DNS service in us-east-1 was unable to handle the elevated request volume. At that time, projects hosted in us-east-1 as well as the Polaris UI globally became unavailable. API traffic to the other Polaris regions was not impacted. After scaling out our DNS service, access to Polaris was mostly restored by 16:57 UTC. We continued to observe sporadic errors that were resolved by restarting the originally overloaded DNS servers, and Polaris was fully recovered by 17:40 UTC.
