    Update: The issue has been resolved. Any affected clients can authorize or reauthorize Instagram Content Streams to resume operation. Users will see a permission request for business management when authorizing, which should be accepted.

    Update: A fix has been implemented and we are verifying efficacy with affected accounts.

    Update: We have isolated the root cause, to a breaking change made by Meta to the Instagram Graph API, that is impacting all versions of the API. We are working with Meta to resolve the issue. We do not have an ETA for resolution at this time, but will provide a further update when we have one from Meta. Instagram Content Streams which are already authorized continue to operate normally at this time.

    Update: We are currently investigating an issue affecting Instagram Content Streams, where users are unable to authorize access to their Instagram Business account. The same issue is also being reported by many other businesses who rely on the Instagram Graph API. This affects new Instagram Content Streams, and streams with expired access tokens that require re-authorization. Instagram Content Streams which are already authorized are operating normally at this time.

    Update: This incident has been resolved.
  • Time: Sept. 17, 2023, 3:44 a.m.
    Status: Monitoring
    Update: New stream creation and re-authorization of existing streams should now be working for all customers. Meta rolled back the API change that caused the disruption. We are continuing to monitor to verify that the issue is resolved.

    Status: Identified
    Update: Most content streams have been restored, and are collecting content. Missed content has been backfilled, with some limitations. While Meta has marked the Graph API disruption resolved, we continue to experience issues getting lists of Instagram accounts from the API. This is preventing some Wyng users from creating or re-authorizing Instagram Content Streams. Many other Graph API users are reporting the same problem. We are monitoring for further updates from Meta, and in parallel, evaluating workarounds.

    Update: Most affected Instagram Content Streams have been restored, and are collecting content. However, due to a continued disruption with Meta Graph API, some users may not be able to re-authorize existing streams, or create new streams. We are monitoring for updates.

    Update: The root cause is a disruption in Meta Graph API; Meta says: "We’re aware of an issue that may be impacting Graph API me/accounts endpoint. Our engineering teams are actively working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible." This was posted at 3:38 AM EDT. We are monitoring for updates.

    Update: Some Instagram Content Streams are not collecting content. Affected users may see messages about content streams needing to be re-authorized; however attempts to re-authorize may fail. We are investigating this issue.

    Update: We have identified the root cause, which is being caused by a downstream failure with a technology partner on whom we have a dependency. We are working on a fix.

    Update: While Facebook has not officially announced a fix, from our testing, Instagram content collection has started to recover. To restore collection, re-authorization of access may be required.

    Update: Facebook is currently reporting a "major disruption" of the Graph API. This is impacting Instagram Content Stream in Wyng. No new Instagram content is currently being collected. Facebook indicates that a fix is being implemented, but has not provided an ETA. We will post status updates here.     Status: Resolved
    Update: To restore collection of new content, affected clients should use the "Re-Authorize Access" option on their content streams. If re-authorize fails, a person with management access to the Instagram business account should use the "Select Instagram Account" option to provide updated credentials. Please reach out to support if you have trouble restoring collection.

    Update: The issue was caused by an issue with Facebook access tokens, where existing valid tokens lost one required permission. Affected clients should reauthorize their content streams to restore collection. Clients who were unable to reauthorize earlier during the interruption should try again. We are monitoring the issue, so reach out to support if you have trouble reauthorizing and restoring collection.
