Description: ### Floify Service Interruption June 9, 2023 _\(All times Mountain Time\)_ **Issue Summary** Between July 9, 4:00 AM and July 9, 11:14 AM, Floify incoming API calls were failing. The root cause was related to an issue with updating the SSL certificates for only [api.floify.com](http://api.floify.com). The Floify application was unaffected and working properly. **Timeline** **Jun 9, 2023** * 2:45 AM Floify Engineering team updated SSL certs for the Floify app and Floify API services during the scheduled maintenance window. * 4:00 AM Incoming API calls started failing. * 10:12 AM Floify Engineering team was alerted that incoming APIs were failing. * 10:48 AM Floify Engineering Ops team identified the issue as a mismatch in intermediate SSL certificates between the Floify app and Floify api. * 11:10 AM Floify Engineering Ops team updated the SSL certificate with the correct intermediate certificate. * 11:14 AM The issue was resolved. **Root Cause** The SSL certificates were up to date across the system, however, intermediate SSL certificates were out of sync. **Resolution and recovery** At 10:12 AM on June 9, Floify Engineering was alerted by Floify Support that incoming APIs calls to the application were failing. By 10:48 AM on June 9, Floify Engineering had identified the root cause of the problem. At 11:14 AM the issue was resolved. **Corrective and Preventative Measures** The following are actions we are taking to address the underlying causes of the issue and to help prevent recurrence and improve response times: Completed: * The SSL certificates were updated with the correct intermediate certificates and the issue was resolved \(Completed\) * Update test procedures to add additional steps to verify intermediate certificates \(Completed\) * Add additional monitoring to detect this situation and alert the Floify Engineering team \(Completed\) Floify is committed to continually adapting and improving our technology and process to prevent service interruptions.
