    Update: Amazon Web Services Hands-on Labs and Labs Challenges are now fully operational and we are monitoring that every user is able to sign in successfully in the AWS Management Console. AWS solved an issue that was preventing IAM users to sign in. More details: 3:25 AM PDT Between 12:02 AM and 2:35 AM PDT AWS customers experienced increased error rates while calling the IAM assume role, get session token and other APIs with the long term credentials. As of 2:35 AM PDT, we are fully recovered and the issue is resolved now. Other AWS services such as AWS CloudFormation whose features require these actions experienced similar impact.

    Status: Investigating
    Update: AWS is experiencing increased error rates while calling the assume role API which is also affecting IAM as a whole, they are actively investigating. The issue is affecting Amazon Web Services Hands-on Labs and Labs Challenges, users are currently unable to sign in the AWS Management Console successfully.
