Description: Our API had a major outage between 16:45 and 17:00 ET (15 minutes) today due to a lock on a critical table in our core database. This lock was caused by an extremely large and miscategorized amount of information getting run simultaneously. We are currently working through a plan to flag this type of usage and create other mitigating controls for this type of situation.

Description: A database migration combined with long-running queries on our database writer created an inability to write to our database from 16:32 ET to 16:39 ET (7 minutes). Once the migrations were killed, the applications came back up immediately. We're currently working to diagnose why these queries locked the table.

Description: From 16:57 ET to 17:20 ET today, we experienced a failover with the new caching infrastructure that was upgraded yesterday during our maintenance. We are in touch with AWS support to figure out why this upgrade would have failed over like this despite the increase in capacity. We're noticing significant performance improvements across our application since the upgrades yesterday, but we'll make sure we closely investigate this incident and monitor to make sure there isn't additional instability. Thank you for your patience while we work through these issues.
