Description: ### **Dates:** Tuesday February 6th 2024, 13:40 - 15:05 UTC ### **What happened:** Newly-created tests were not being displayed in the Web UI in the Automated and Live Tests sections. ### **Why it happened:** An updated parsing library failed to parse some messages, resulting in a delay in a Kafka topic. ### **How we fixed it:** A rollback to the previous version was initiated, at which point prior messages were consumed and the results for affected tests could be viewed in the Web UI. ### **What we are doing to prevent it from happening again:** We are improving alerting around both the affected service and Kafka.

Description: ### **Dates:** Thursday February 1st 2024, 16:00 - 17:00 UTC ### **What happened:** Some customers were unable to start tunnels with Sauce Connect 5. ### **Why it happened:** A new SC Tunnel image was released to production that contained a bug preventing some tunnels from starting. ### **How we fixed it:** We rolled back to the previous version of the image. ### **What we are doing to prevent it from happening again:** We’re investigating additional testing practices prior to release for specific edge case configurations. Additionally, we are updating our alerting to be clearer on the affected component.

Description: **Dates:** Thursday January 25th 2024, 16:59 - 18:45 UTC ### **What happened:** New user registration was unavailable during the incident timeline. ### **Why it happened:** The API limit for registering a new user was triggered, which prevented new users from being able to sign up for services. ### **How we fixed it:** The API limit was increased, which resolved the incident. ### **What we are doing to prevent it from happening again:** We are improving the monitoring and alerting of the impacted API.

Description: ### **Dates:** Friday January 19th 2024, 20:00 - 21:59 UTC ### **What happened:** An issue with route programming within a service mesh resulted in traffic being dropped to new pods involved in the Sauce Orchestrate request flow. ### **Why it happened:** A service mesh bug resulted in some routes not being programmed. ### **How we fixed it:** The control plane of the service mesh was restarted to force a sync event. ### **What we are doing to prevent it from happening again:** We are improving monitoring for the service mesh and the affected services. Additionally, we are developing a plan for upgrades of the service mesh across the fleet.

Description: ### **Dates:** Thursday January 11th 2024, 23:17 - Friday January 12th 2024, 01:09 UTC ### **What happened:** Tests running on Chrome version 120 for any platform and Firefox on Mac experienced failures. ### **Why it happened:** During a new browser release, a critical update to a dependency for Firefox was not identified due to an irregular and infrequent update cycle for that dependency. Additionally, during the initial rollback, an inconsistent system state affected Chrome. ### **How we fixed it:** The deployment was reverted. Following the initial revert, an additional deploy was performed to resolve an inconsistent system state. ### **What we are doing to prevent it from happening again:** We are improving our internal automated testing coverage to include the previously missed component.
