Description: **ServicePower RCA Reference:** RCA-166 **ServicePower Applications Impacted:** WebGANTT / Empowerment **Incident Date\(s\):** 20th & 27th November 2023 **Prepared by:** Simon Draper – Product Support Specialist **Problem Statement:** In two instances on 20th November 2023 20th - 5:30pm first report - 8:05pm restored \(ET\) until and 27th November 2023 - 10:54am - 11:26am \(ET\) WebGantt US and Empowerment’s function was halted, resulting in users being unable to login to these systems. While users were unable to login, applications were still processing jobs and were fully operational. **Root Cause:** In a recent release, we introduced internal code to improve resource cleanup for the Gantt Router. This update introduced unforeseen issues, resulting in the two outages referenced above. The problem stemmed from accumulated cleanup actions during user logins, to WebGantt or Empowerment. This accumulation led to resource exhaustion, ultimately, halting the login function for WebGantt and Empowerment. Although we tested this improvement prior to deployment, the tool's performance is influenced by the number of logins. The testing environment's login volume was not high enough to meet the threshold to expose this issue, and therefore it manifested in the production environment. **Remediation Actions:** A code fix was deployed on 6th December 2023 to remediate this issue and the code improvement tool has been monitored closely to ensure the issue has been permanently resolved.
