    Status: Postmortem
    Update: On Monday, we started a cluster of new CRM servers to handle growing business. However, the new servers created a race condition that corrupted data when multiple servers simultaneously tried to synchronize updates with our marketing automation system. This prevented new users from accessing the Gurobi website. We shut down the new CRM servers and started a full sync to repair the link with the marketing automation system. The sync logs identified the corrupted records; once we repaired those records, the sync completed and all systems were restored. We updated the procedure to start the new CRM servers to avoid this race condition, and we documented the process to repair sync should it get corrupted again. Furthermore, we will reschedule the CRM server upgrade for off-peak hours. We appreciate your patience during this incident.

    Update: Currently, Gurobi registrations for new website accounts are severely delayed. This was caused by a server upgrade, which broke synchronization between the registration system and the website accounts. A complete resync is underway, which will take several hours to complete.     Update: We started experiencing connectivity issues with AWS Sydney region at 9:25 AM PST. AWS has identified an issue in this region and is working on resolving it. We recommend our customers to use a different region.

    Update: Microsoft Azure has been experiencing issues in several US regions. The provisioning APIs were timing out. It seems that the issues are getting resolved and performance is improving.

    Update: We are currently investigating slow provisioning on Instant Cloud Azure US West 2. We advise customers to use another region.

    Status: Postmortem
    Update: Late on Sunday January 31, we received several reports of failures to start Gurobi cloud sessions. Since these were urgent, two of Gurobi’s most senior people investigated immediately, even though it was late in the day for them. The root cause was the tool that generates license key files on the Gurobi website. This is used both by traditional Gurobi licenses and for Gurobi cloud sessions. For reasons of reliability and security, this tool must be upgraded periodically. We recently made major upgrades to the server that issues license keys, and in the process, we inadvertently replaced this license key generation program with an old version. Once we installed the latest version on the server, all systems returned to normal. We have a system in place to monitor this tool and notify us when the replacement date is approaching. However, this also failed. Later this week, we will investigate the monitoring system to prevent this type of failure in the future. The recent server upgrades were designed to _increase_ reliability, and it is unfortunate that it triggered this outage. We apologize for any inconvenience. Fixing the monitoring system should avoid a similar failure in the future.

    Update: The license key system is fixed, and all systems are back to normal.
