Description: We were able to resolve the issue with EOD options data and data processing delays. EOD options data is now available and up-to-date.

Description: Due to a traffic surge, API v2 experienced a short-term major outage. Additional server capacity has been added to handle the increased API v2 load.

Description: On 4/15/2020 API v2 suffered an incident resulting in intermittent severe degrading of performance from 8:00AM ET - 5:00PM ET. This incident was due to a sudden, sustained spike in traffic 400-500% of the typical load. This incident has been resolved, new fail-safe rate limits have been put into place for high-traffic accounts, and significant new capacity has been added to ensure continued levels of high-performance.

Description: This incident was caused by an un-optimized database query, created by an edge-case in API logic. A distinct kind of API request caused several of these un-optimized queries to run, eating up the database workers' CPU. This, in turn, caused a reduced capacity of the database to handle other queries, in turn raising the API error rates to 2-3%. We have remedied this problem at both the database level \(by imposing stricter query time limits\) and the application level \(by accounting for the edge case and preventing it from generating an un-optimized query\).
