    Update: We noticed overnight that Cloudflare had issues so some sites could be temporarily unavailable. At the moment incident is resolved and all the services are operational. https://www.cloudflarestatus.com/incidents/xvs51y9qs9dj

  • Time: June 10, 2022, 2:40 p.m.
    Status: Postmortem
    Update: The outage for dashboard access yesterday was caused by an AWS issue with their “spot” instances. At 9:30 ET we suddenly started to see servers in the dashboards cluster removed by AWS. Apparently they had encountered an issue with the availability of spot instances, so not only were they removed from our cluster but we were unable to instantly launch spot instances as we normally do. This is the first time in our history with AWS that we have encountered this problem with them. They ended up resolving it on their side within 2 hours but we resolved faster by spinning up dedicated instances to make up for the missing spot instances.  To prevent this from happening again in the future we have balanced our clusters with a mix of spot and dedicated instances and have built in early warning systems.

    Update: We have performed health check tests on all the servers and can confirm there is no unexpected behaviour in any production clusters. All the systems work as expected.
